Hophni, Phinehas and Judas Iscariot

Sometime  ago I attended a wedding ceremony.
At the church service, the 'free will' offering had already made rounds, like three times, all with different names, at a wedding ceremony. The reverend mounts the podium, and for more than half of his designated 45 minutes to speak on what should be spoken on on days such as that, he spent it raising funds. The celebrants, both of them, had come from ' the abroad'. Pastor saw it as an opportunity and capitalised on it. I was not the only uncomfortable one.

For some, 'ministry' has become an avenue to pursue money. I have always believed one thing, when God gives you a vision, He makes provision for it, effortlessly.  By that, I mean you would not need to bother people for financial help ( Note on 'bother'). It will come from God, by God. How He will make it happen is His 'compiti' not yours.  When they see a hall full of people they get excited by how much they will realise at the end of the day. They easily dismiss the brother towing the wrong path, just so they don't loose him to another, so long he keeps bringing the money. They measure the success of their meeting with the amount realised at the end of the day.

Cold hearts. Compassion dead. Sometimes you see it in the anonymous comments. You see it in the 'judgemental cold heartedness' of believers who ought to have passion for soul winning being happy that, 'he killed by the sword, he should die by it'; 'he got served'.

Who still 'prays for those who despitefully use them'. It has become tit for tat. Men who should serve as guides now call a spade a spoon, just so you keep the cheques coming.

Of course , you eat from where you work, they say. But always remember, if he gave you a vision, He will make provision.

"Let your god not be your belly..."
Phil 3:17-19

Diamond in the rough.
